Meet Suzanne Esper
Mum to two, wife to one, and friend to many!
Hello! I’m Suzanne and I’ve been honing my sugar skills since 2010! I started out making cupcakes as a hobby and fell in love with cakes. I dreamt about cake day and night and when I got made redundant from my science career, I went all in. You could say my skills sky rocketed and so did my wedding cake business. I was soon known for my beautifully finished cakes and sugar flowers.
It wasn’t long before I was being asked to teach others.
Classes
I run in-person group classes and private lessons from my beautiful new Cake School in central Scotland. In 2018 I launched my first-ever online class and boy it was an incredible experience. Here I could reach and teach hundreds of students around the world all learning from the comfort of their own homes. I’d met my people.
Since then I’ve added over 10 online classes teaching Sugar flowers, Cake decorating skills, and macarons. Each one hosted right here on my website.
Products
In 2020 I launched my very own range of sugarcraft products including Stainless Steel Cutters, Flower Paste, Dust Colours, Rolling Pins, Stencils, and beautiful Acrylic Flower Holders.
In 2019 I was awarded Top ten UK cake Artist and in 2022 I was awarded the Best Cake Magazine cover by Cake Masters Awards.
I was also nominated for Best learning experience (squeal) and Peoples Choice 2022. Then earlier this year I was nominated for Best Tutor and Best Sugar Florist by D’licious Cake Magazine! I’m still buzzing. What an honour.

Then in January this year, I’ve been working with the fabulous Laura Lane of Love Laura Lane to bring Esper Lane Bake School to life. This course will be released later this year – so watch this space.
What’s important to me?
Aside from my family cos that’s a given, it’s – people. You matter to me. Wither you’ve been to one of my in-person classes or my online classes, I will look after you and provide continued support and help when you need it most.
At the heart of my classes is community. I’ve built several communities around my paid and free classes and I can’t tell you how wonderful these groups are. It’s such a joy to see students flourish and grow with each class.
Asking for advice, supporting others, sharing wins and works and taking part in our competitions. I know I’m biased but my students really are amazing humans and I love getting to teach them. What a privilege.
